Senior UX Designer

I designed a novel way, breaking current UX standards, to allow players of Zynga games to purchase virtual goods through PayPal without losing their game progress.

Results

  • Game-Changer: Enabled uninterrupted in-game virtual goods purchases for Zynga, PayPal’s 2nd largest customer after eBay

  • 199% Growth in Revenue: Zynga generated about $300 million in revenue from virtual goods in 2009, and $597.5 million in 2010

Project Overview

PayPal needed a solution to enable players of Zynga’s immensely popular online games to purchase credits while maintaining their state within the game. By exploring solutions outside of the generally accepted UX standards, I provided a novel approach that accomplished our goals.
